Zoë Kravitz in Talks to Direct Romantic Drama ‘How to Save a Marriage’ for Sony

Robert Pattinson to Produce Reunion Project with ‘The Batman’ Co-Star

Fresh off her critically acclaimed directorial debut Blink TwiceZoë Kravitz is in negotiations to helm How to Save a Marriage for Sony Pictures, sources confirm to Deadline. The project, written by Ross Evans, will be produced by her The Batman co-star Robert Pattinson through his Icki Eneo Arlo banner alongside Geoff Shaevitz and Evan Silverberg of Entertainment 360.

While plot details remain under wraps, insiders describe the film as having “edgy undertones” similar to Blink Twice, a psychological thriller that premiered in August 2024 to strong reviews. Kravitz’s deft handling of tension and complex character dynamics in her debut reportedly made her Sony’s top choice for the director’s chair.

Sony’s Aggressive Pursuit of the Project

The studio fiercely competed to secure How to Save a Marriage when Evans’ script hit the market last year, marking a major breakthrough for the writer. The deal also signaled Hollywood’s renewed appetite for high-concept packages following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

Pattinson, who is currently only attached as a producer, previously collaborated with Kravitz on Matt Reeves’ The Batman (2022), where they played Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle. Their on-screen chemistry and off-screen creative rapport could add an intriguing dynamic to this new collaboration.

What’s Next for Kravitz?

Beyond directing, Kravitz remains in demand as an actress. She’ll next star opposite Austin Butler in Darren Aronofsky’s crime thriller Caught Stealing, set for release this fall.
