“The Whisper Man”: Robert de Niro in a thriller about a serial killer

In the spring of 2025, shooting the film “The Whisper Man” will begin. This is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Alex North, in which Robert de Niro plays the main role. Netflix is ​​responsible for production.

Plot

In the center of the story is the widow of the writer-detective Tom Kennedy, who, after the abduction of his son Jake, is forced to seek help from his father, who was remembered by his family, as a pension detective. He soon understands that the disappearance of his grandson is connected with the loud business of a serial killer, known as “The Whisper Man” who has terrorized the small English city of Fezerbank for many years. Killing little boys, he mocked them, whispering promises through the windows of their houses.

It turned out that when Tom and Jake moved to a new house, the child again disappeared into the city. This caused fears that the crimes of the “whisper” had resumed, and perhaps he had an accomplice. Moreover, Jake heard mysterious sounds at night.

There is not so much known about the cast. The legendary artist Robert de Niro will play a former policeman in retirement, which will be investigated. De Niro is the owner of the Golden Globes and Oscars, known for the films “Taxi driver”, “Frantic Bull”, “Cape of Fear” and “Cross Father 2”.

The director of the film will become James Eshcroft known for the projects “Cruel Reckoning”, “And the Abode of Death”, and the script will be written (“Omen. The first sign”) and Chase Palmer (“It”, “Alienist”). The production team includes Anthony and Joe Rousseau, Angel Russo-Ottot, and Michael Disco From Agbo, which makes this project the sixth in their collaboration with Netflix.
