Plot
Lenin Komsomol went to the North Pole in the context of an exacerbation of the confrontation between the USSR and the USA. This operation was designed to demonstrate the power of the Soviet Navy and is comparable in its complexity with the first flights into space.

In 1962, K-3 surfaced at the North Pole for the first time in history. This was the next victory of the USSR over the United States. Immediately after the end of World War II, the Soviet Union and the United States began the arms race. The battle went on the sea. The Americans were the first to create an underwater nuclear power plant. In 1958, she passed under the ice of the Arctic Ocean. To defeat this battle, Soviet sailors had to come up. They did it, but it was not easy.

The director of the picture – Alexander Cott. He is one of the creators of the sensational New Year’s film “Elka-11”. He played the main role of Andrey Merzlikin played the captain. And the first details of the case were made without them at all. Creating a submarine is a real feat.
- Now the legendary submarine is located in the Museum of Naval Glory in Kronstadt, it was taken to land, although they initially wanted to utilize it, but the ship repairmen achieved its preservation.
