New Ninth Jedi Spin-Off Series and Season 3 Episodes Revealed
Star Wars Celebration 2025 delivered thrilling news for anime and Star Wars fans: Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 will premiere on October 29, 2025, alongside a spin-off series expanding the story of The Ninth Jedi from Volume 1.
The anthology’s third season will feature nine new short films from acclaimed Japanese studios, including Studio Trigger (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners), WIT Studio (Attack on Titan), and Production I.G. (Ghost in the Shell). Three episodes—The Duel, The Village Bride, and The Ninth Jedi—will continue storylines from previous seasons.
Kara’s Journey Continues in Child of Hope and Beyond
Writer-director Kenji Kamiyama confirmed that the spin-off series will focus on Kara, the lightsaber-forging protagonist of The Ninth Jedi, allowing for longer-form storytelling within the Visions universe. The upcoming Child of Hope episode in Volume 3 will reunite Kara with Juro, setting the stage for the spin-off.
“Fans have been asking for more of Kara’s story since 2021,” Kamiyama said during the panel. “This new series will dive deeper into her role as a Jedi and the mysteries of her galaxy.”
Why Visions Matters to the Star Wars Universe
Since its 2021 debut, Star Wars: Visions has redefined canon-adjacent storytelling, blending Star Wars lore with anime aesthetics and global perspectives. Volume 2 expanded the creative pool to studios worldwide, but Volume 3 returns to its Japanese roots with a stacked lineup.
