Nickelodeon has officially announced a new animated series titled Avatar: Seven Havens, expanding the beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender universe. The series is being developed by the franchise’s original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, and will consist of 26 episodes split across two seasons.
Set after the events of The Legend of Korra, the story follows a young Earthbender who discovers that she is the new Avatar in a world ravaged by a catastrophic event. Unlike past Avatars, she is not seen as a savior but as a force of destruction. Alongside her long-lost twin, she must uncover the truth about their origins and restore balance before the Seven Havens collapse.
Production for the series is currently underway at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank. This announcement arrives as part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations for Avatar: The Last Airbender, further cementing the franchise’s lasting impact on pop culture.
