According to industry sources, Warner Bros. is expected to release Mickey 17 on VOD and digital platforms on March 25, 2025. The sci-fi comedy, directed by Bong Joon-ho and starring Robert Pattinson, premiered in U.S. theaters on March 7, 2025, meaning the studio is opting for a brief 18-day theatrical window before its digital debut.
The film had its world premiere at this year’s Berlin International Film Festival and is based on Edward Ashton’s 2022 novel Mickey7. Bong Joon-ho, known for Parasite and Snowpiercer, serves as the film’s writer, producer, and director. The cast includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo alongside Pattinson in the lead role.
Mickey 17 follows Mickey Barnes, an expendable worker sent on a dangerous interstellar mission where dying is just part of the job—literally.
While Warner Bros. has not yet officially confirmed the digital release date, industry insiders suggest the March 25 launch is likely. As always, release dates are subject to change.
The film is now available for pre-order on Amazon, and its official U.S. trailer can be viewed online.
