Martin Scorsese will remove a new thriller with Dwayin Johnson

Renowned filmmaker Martin Scorsese is set to direct a new crime drama set in Hawaii during the 1960s and 1970s, with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Emily Blunt in discussions to star.

The film will explore the life of a real-life crime lord who fought against mainland corporations and rival gangs to control the Hawaiian islands. Journalist and screenwriter Nick Bilton is attached to write the script. The project is currently being shopped to studios and streamers, with Scorsese, Johnson, Blunt, DiCaprio, Bilton, Dany Garcia, Lisa Frechette, and Rick Yorn set to produce. Johnson and Blunt, who previously collaborated on “Jungle Cruise,” brought the concept to Scorsese and DiCaprio.

This film would mark the seventh collaboration between Scorsese and DiCaprio, following their work on films such as “The Departed” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” Additionally, Johnson and Blunt are set to reunite in the upcoming A24 drama “The Smashing Machine,” directed by Benny Safdie.
