Embarrassment Voice Actor Suggests Another Emotional Journey May Be in the Works
Pixar’s beloved Inside Out universe could be expanding once again, as actor Paul Walter Hauser has hinted at the possibility of Inside Out 3. Hauser, who recently joined the franchise in the record-breaking Inside Out 2 as the shy and lovable emotion Embarrassment, revealed in an interview that a third installment may be in development—though details are still under wraps.
In a chat with ComicBook.com, Hauser shared his enthusiasm about the overwhelming success of Inside Out 2 and dropped a tantalizing tease: “Crazy, it’s nutty. I heard we might be doing another one. I don’t know when or how or where, but the movie just resonated with people of all ages.”
Inside Out 2 Breaks Records and Sets the Stage
Released in 2024, Inside Out 2 introduced audiences to Riley’s teenage years and added new emotions like Anxiety, Envy, Ennui, and of course, Embarrassment—voiced by Hauser. The film not only struck a chord with viewers of all ages but also shattered box office records, becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time.
The sequel’s success has reignited interest in Pixar’s emotional storytelling, and fans are already speculating about what a third film might explore. With Riley stepping into high school, the potential for new emotional conflicts and character development is virtually limitless.
What Could Inside Out 3 Be About?
While Disney and Pixar have not officially announced Inside Out 3, the setup left by the second film provides a natural springboard. Riley’s high school years promise an even more complex mix of emotions—from love and peer pressure to self-discovery and anxiety. It’s likely that the original core emotions—Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust—will return alongside the newer additions.
Hauser reflected on why the Inside Out series connects so deeply with audiences: “What’s different about the Inside Out movies is they don’t treat children as less intellectual beings. They tell a funny, brilliant story, and kids grow with it. As they get older, they understand more of the jokes and nuances.”
Paul Walter Hauser: From Pixar to Marvel to Wrestling
Hauser, who has become a familiar face in various fandoms, is not slowing down. In addition to his role in Inside Out 2, he’s set to appear in Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four reboot and remains active in the wrestling scene through Major League Wrestling (MLW). “I love joining these families—Pixar, Marvel, Cobra Kai, MLW—they’re all cinematic universes of their own,” Hauser said.
Pixar’s Future with Emotional Storytelling
Pixar’s strength has always been its ability to tell emotionally intelligent stories that transcend age. With Inside Out 2 proving there’s still much to explore within the emotional core of its characters, a third film feels almost inevitable.
While there’s no official release date or production update from Pixar, Hauser’s comments are a strong indication that the studio is at least considering a follow-up to one of its most successful franchises.
Until then, fans will have to sit tight and revisit Inside Out 2, now streaming on Disney+, and keep their fingers crossed for another heartwarming—and heart-wrenching—adventure inside Riley’s mind.
