Elizabeth Olsen Leads FX’s Seven Sisters Pilot, Directed by Sean Durkin

FX has greenlit the pilot for Seven Sisters, a psychological drama starring Elizabeth Olsen, with acclaimed filmmaker Sean Durkin (The Iron Claw, Martha Marcy May Marlene) set to direct.

A Mysterious Family Drama

Written by Will Arbery (Succession), Seven Sisters follows a tight-knit family that begins to unravel when one sister (played by Olsen) starts hearing a voice no one else can hear—forcing them all to confront long-buried secrets.

Reuniting Olsen & Durkin

This marks a long-awaited reunion between Olsen and Durkin, who first collaborated on the 2011 psychological thriller Martha Marcy May Marlene, a breakthrough role for Olsen.

Powerful Creative Team

  • Will Arbery (Succession, Irma Vep) – Screenwriter
  • Sean Durkin (The Iron Claw, Dead Ringers) – Director
  • Garrett Basch (What We Do in the Shadows, Ripley) – Executive Producer

If FX moves forward with the series, it would be Basch’s fifth collaboration with the network, following hits like Devs and Reservation Dogs.

Olsen’s Busy Slate

Beyond Seven Sisters, Olsen has a packed schedule:
🔹 The Assessment (w/ Alicia Vikander) – Premiered at TIFF 2024
🔹 Eternity (w/ Miles Teller) – A24 romantic comedy
🔹 Panic Carefully (w/ Julia Roberts) – Warner Bros thriller

Will Seven Sisters Become FX’s Next Hit?

The blend of psychological drama, family tension, and supernatural intrigue makes Seven Sisters a promising addition to FX’s lineup. With Olsen’s star power and Durkin’s eerie storytelling, this is one to watch!

📅 Stay tuned for updates on whether FX picks up the full series.
