The ton is abuzz with excitement as Bridgerton best friends Eloise (Claudia Jessie) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) are back together in Season 4. Fans of the Shondaland series will be delighted to see the two reunited after the rift that dominated Season 3.
A Friendship Restored
Season 3 saw Eloise struggling with the revelation that Penelope had been secretly writing as Lady Whistledown. The conflict escalated when Penelope and Colin (Luke Newton) announced their engagement, and Eloise threatened to expose her friend’s secret to her brother. However, by the season’s end, Penelope unmasked herself as Lady Whistledown, and Eloise chose to travel to Scotland with Francesca (Hannah Dodd), leaving their friendship in an uncertain state.
Now, an exclusive new image from Season 4 confirms that the two have reconciled. The pair can be seen promenading together, smiles on their faces as they share a private moment. Showrunner Jess Brownell assures fans that their friendship is stronger than ever: “Their trials and tribulations last season have added new depth to their relationship, and we’re excited for viewers to see how they’ve grown.”
Introducing the Li Sisters
Another exclusive image offers a first look at Rosamund (Michelle Mao) and Posy Li (Isabella Wei), the step-sisters of Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). The sisters are making their society debut this season, under the careful guidance of their ambitious mother, Araminta Gun (Katie Leung).
“Rosamund has become her mother’s mini-me—a master of the marriage mart,” Brownell explains, “while Posy is more dreamy and carefree, much to her mother’s disapproval.” Araminta and Rosamund initially pay little attention to the Bridgertons—except for the fact that Benedict (Luke Thompson) emerges as quite the catch this season.

A Cinderella Story for Benedict
Benedict Bridgerton’s romantic journey takes an intriguing turn in Season 4 as he crosses paths with Sophie Baek at the grand Bridgerton masquerade ball. Disguised as a mysterious woman in silver, Sophie immediately captivates Benedict, setting the stage for a whirlwind romance.
“Benedict has been a fan favorite,” Brownell previously teased. “We wanted to shake him out of his usual routine, and Sophie is the perfect character to do that. She has the qualities of a classic Cinderella figure, but she’s no damsel in distress—she’s always thinking several moves ahead.”
Awaiting the Return to London
With Bridgerton Season 4 currently in production, fans eagerly await the next installment of the beloved series. As friendships mend and new romances blossom, the upcoming season promises plenty of intrigue, drama, and heartfelt moments. Whenever Netflix decides to take us back to Regency-era London, one thing is certain—the ton will be watching.
