Amy Pascal, David Heyman Close Deals to Produce Next James Bond Movie for Amazon MGM

It’s official: the James Bond franchise has secured its producers in Amy Pascal and David Heyman. Amazon MGM has selected the duo to oversee the new Bond film, marking the first time a Bond movie will be produced by someone outside the Broccoli family.

Production Details

Pascal will produce the film under Pascal Pictures, while Heyman will oversee production via Heyday Films. It remains unclear whether they will continue producing future Bond films beyond the next installment.

This development follows Amazon MGM’s agreement with longtime Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, whose family has managed the 007 franchise since the 1960s, to transfer creative control of the series.

A Legacy of Blockbuster Success

Amazon MGM emphasized Pascal and Heyman’s impressive track record in franchise filmmaking. Pascal has been instrumental in the success of the Spider-Man franchise, with the Tom Holland-led films amassing over $3 billion at the global box office. Heyman, known for shepherding the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts franchises, has also delivered record-breaking results.

Official Statements

“We are approaching every creative decision with James Bond, which Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have so masterfully steered, with the greatest sense of responsibility,” said Amazon MGM Studios’ head of film, Courtenay Valenti. “Amy Pascal and David Heyman are two of the most accomplished, experienced, and respected film producers in our industry.”

Pascal and Heyman echoed the sentiment in a joint statement: “James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in the history of cinema. We are humbled to follow in the footsteps of Barbara Broccoli and Michael Wilson, who made so many extraordinary films, and we are honored and excited to keep the spirit of Bond very much alive as he embarks on his next adventure.”

The announcement solidifies Pascal and Heyman’s involvement, following reports that they were in negotiations last week. More details on the next Bond film’s direction and casting are expected to emerge in the coming months.
